Letter of Intent
I am currently attending The College of New Jersey where I am pursuing a degree in Finance with a minor in Communication Studies. I am scheduled to graduate in May 2010. The classes that I have completed have provided me with a solid foundation in finance, management, and marketing to help me succeed in a competitive business environment. If given the opportunity, I would like to take these skills and apply them to the daily demands and challenges that may present themselves while working for your organization.
Please scroll down to see my resume as well as some writing samples and presentations that I have completed in past classes. Feel free to contact me at any time at SLBatten4@gmail.com
Best regards,

Biography
Throughout high school I joined various clubs, honor societies, and sports teams, which helped me become a well-rounded individual. What I enjoyed most during these years was cheerleading and appearing as a host on our daily morning show at school. As a host, I really enjoyed reporting the news and being in front of the camera. That experience opened up the opportunity for me to host a cable television show that reported seasonal news throughout my school district.
While attending The College of New Jersey, I knew that business; specifically finance was the way to go for me because there were so many different ways I could take my career. TCNJ has a wonderful business program that really prepares their students for their future endeavors. This year, the business department was ranked #65 in the BusinessWeek rankings for the best undergraduate business schools. Since I had a passion for television hosting, I decided to minor in Communication Studies. While at TCNJ I have been an active member of the cheerleading team as well as within my sorority, Delta Zeta. I feel that the courses that I have taken, and the activities I am involved in, have prepared me for the work force. I am eager to learn more skills, by applying what I have learned to real life scenarios when I begin working.

Work Experience
Over the past seven years I have worked as a billing representative for Cardiovascular Associates of the Delaware Valley. There were many different responsibilities given to me throughout the years. I was responsible for printing and sorting EKGs and then billing them to the insurance companies. I organized referrals and verified patients’ insurances. Dealing more directly with the business aspect of my major, I frequently prepared the daily bank deposit from start to finish of both the insurance payments as well as the patient payments. I am grateful for this job opportunity because it has taught me time management skills with all of the deadlines I needed to meet. Also, I have background knowledge of the various elements needed to work in the business end of a medical facility. This position has also given me leadership experience, as I was responsible for training some of the new student workers for the job.
In the summer of 2009 I was an intern for Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. I worked in the accounts receivable part of their accounting department. (read more)

Activities
Cheerleading has been a part of my life since I was nine years old. It taught me how to work as a team as well as gave me valuable leadership experience when I was an assistant coach for a freshman team. While I was on the team in high school, we received the National Champions title two years in a row from the World Spirit Federation competition in Atlantic City. I was a four-year cheerleader at The College, and my proudest moment with that was taking 3rd place at UCA Nationals in Orlando, Florida. By being a mentor to younger girls on the team, I was able to learn so much about myself and how I am always willing to help others.
I joined Delta Zeta in 2008 as a way to meet more people and get involved with the community, but I gained so much more than just that. I have held various positions within the sorority such as fundraising, historian, and composite officer, but I am most proud of my position as the Vice President of New Member Education. This shows my leadership qualities because I had to make chapter decisions as a member of the executive board. This position taught me so much about myself, and what I can accomplish when I put my mind to it, and it is an experience I could never forget.
